There
is a divine plan and order in every detail of the universe,
with its magnificent design. God has created the most ideal
balances for human beings.
Countless factors, such as
The speed at which the universe is expanding,
The Earth's location in the Milky Way,
The frequency of the light emitted by the Sun,
The level of viscosity of water,
The distance of the Moon from the Earth,
And the proportions of the gasses in the atmosphere, have
all been regulated at the ideal levels for human life. Let
us examine this equilibrium together with a question.
Why is the universe so wide?
Scientists researching the answer to that question revealed
that there was a particular balance in the size of the universe.
There are enormous distances between heavenly bodies, and
these permit the orbits of the planets to remain "stable."
Calculations show that if the distances in space were slightly
less, the gravitational attraction between stars would cause
the orbits of the planets to become uncertain and distorted.
If the distances in space were any greater, then the heavy
elements hurled into space by supernova explosions would only
rarely fall onto other stars and planets. The Earth would
therefore be deprived of vital elements essential for life.
As can be seen from this evidence alone, Almighty and Omniscient
God created the universe, and the duty of we human beings
is to appreciate His magnificent creation. God calls on us
human beings in the Qur'an:
Your Lord is God, Who created the heavens
and the Earth in six days and then settled Himself firmly
on the Throne. He covers the day with the night, each pursuing
the other urgently; and the sun and moon and stars are subservient
to His command. Both creation and command belong to Him.
Blessed be God, the Lord of all the worlds. (Qur'an, 7:54)
